Vela Margarita is located just off the northeast coast of Venezuela on Isla Margarita. More specifically, we're located in the small town of Playa El Yaque on the south shore of the island, just 8 minutes from Porlamar airport. In El Yaque, Vela has the premier location just below the El Yaque Beach hotel with convenient access to the water and the best beach front in town! No other windsurf center in Margarita compares with Vela.

El Yaque Beach on Margarita Island is one of the best spots to learn that we know of. With shallow water extending 200 yards out and steady side-shore winds, Margarita is the perfect place for windsurfers of all skill levels. The lighter morning breezes are just right for beginners, while the shallow water and steady afternoon winds make waterstart and jibe practice easy. Vela Margarita is known as the best instructional center on the beach with a stellar team of friendly and knowledgable instructors specifically trained to help you reach your goals. Managers, Tom & Kathy Mastbaum, have been teaching windsurfing professionally for the past 12 years. Many say that Tom's clinics are the best, period.
