Our centre in El Yaque is right on the palm-fringed beach of the El Yaque Paradise hotel.
The spot is over 1 km long. The geographically advantageous location of Isla Margarita and an airstream created between this island and the neighbouring isle explain the reliability and strength of the wind. Add the thermal conditions to the picture and you know why all the surfers you meet in El Yaque have a big grin on their faces and why we are happy to welcome many regular guests every year.

A 300m-long shallow area offers beginners and intermediates optimum conditions. An ideal spot for safely practising beach and water starts and gybing. All advanced windsurfers and freestyle acrobats will certainly have their fun here and will have the best freestyle equipment available to them.

El Yaque has recently become the venue for a number of major windsurfing contests, which are regularly attended by the world's best surfers. The really excellent freestyle and, for that matter, wave-riding levels thus do not come as a particular surprise. Quite a number of surfers have matured to World Cup level here, and the young Margritenos are only waiting for their chance. Some of you might learn a few additional tricks and skills from them.

Kitesurfing, too, has gained a foothold in El Yaque.

The kitesurfers have their own beach, located upwind of the windsurfing bay, where they are taken by boat.

If the wind gods are temporarily less well-disposed or you are longing for a change and want to explore more of the island, we can, of course, offer you a wide variety of alternative pastimes such as trekking tours through the jungle or shopping in Porlamar!

Windsurfers, kitesurfers, non-surfers – they all gather in the numerous beach bars after sunset to enjoy one of the delicious fruit cocktails served there and chat about the varied events of the day, exchange all the things they've been up to that day and share pleasurable expectations of the next day.
